I woke up this morning, took a shower, got dressed, put some makeup on....then I got really close to the mirror. My left eye was really pink towards the bottom. I kind of looked at it, then went on to class. During class I text a few nursing school friends to ask what "pink eye" would look like. What they described seemed to be what I had seen. I quickly left class right when it was over, headed to take my contacts out, then on to the infirmary. After being greeted by a vast majority of my sorority sisters (who all were apparently sick with a cold), I sat for an hour to wait for my thoughts to be confirmed. I had the PINK EYE. I've only had pink eye one other time in my life. It was the summer I played 1st base on my T-ball team. The only reason I remember it is because I had to miss a game and I was really upset about it. So I got my drops and headed out. The only thing about this whole situation that truly upsets me is the fact that I have to throw away my recently purchased mascara. It really bums me out.
After resting my eye for the rest of the day, because it really was feeling very uncomfortable, I felt ready to attend Step Show practice tonight. Yes, that's right, I am participating in Step Show with ADPi this year during Homecoming. I am really excited! I haven't been able to participate since my Freshman year due to my involvement with the University Program Council. It's been really fun so far, but I really am sore. It keeps getting harder and harder...I just hope I can continue to keep up. What I am really enjoying is the time I am getting to spend with my sorority. Since being a part of Panhellenic the past two years and last year being SGA VP for UPC I haven't been able to participate in recruitment or Homecoming events with my sorority. I felt like I had missed out on a lot of bonding experiences...Now I am back and loving it.
Oh and NEWS: I am heading to Ann Arbor, Michigan for my Fall Break to visit my brother John and his wife Bayley. My mother purchased my plane ticket yesterday and I couldn't be more excited! Bring on Oct 21!
