miTchigan.

For my last Fall Break ever in life I decided to go visit my brother and sister-in-law at their new homestead for the next 3 years Ann Arbor, Michigan. John just started law school at the University of Michigan and Bayley is being the dutiful wife.  I was excited to visit them as well as adding a NEW state to my list of visited ones.

My dear sorority sisters Jordan and Savannah agreed to transport me to the airport in Nashville in the wee hours of the morning. Literally. My flight left at 8:30 and Nashville is a 2 hour drive from Florence. We headed out at 5AM. Seriously dear, dear friends.  I have to say though, it was some GREAT conversation time and lots of things planned and talked about. Very productive.

I got into Detroit and John, Bayley, and Louis picked me up from the airport and we had a short 20minute drive to Ann Arbor. Our first stop was some lunch at Zingerman's Deli. Delicious. They have a fun story so if you are interested check out their website.

From their Bayley went to tend to Louis and John gave me the grand tour of the town/campus. All I can say about it is, BEAUTIFUL. It is a picturesque college campus.  The law school, where John is spending his time, looks like Harry Potter World. Stone buildings, stain glass windows, and a quad. We also went to the Union where Bayley picked me up because John had some research to do in the library.

Bayley and I finished our afternoon baking some cookies and watching some TLC shows and catching up.  John came home and we ordered a pizza and watched The Office and Outsourced.  It was a Chicago deepdish but it looked like a cheesecake. It was delicious. It was a typical Thursday night in the Clayton household.

Friday John had school stuff in the morning so Bayley and I took Louis on a walk around all the neighborhoods and to the park. I just kept taking pictures because the trees were beautiful. There were such cute little houses and neighborhoods. Later on that afternoon after John got home we went to Alber Apple Orchard and Cider Mill. We went through the corn maze, had cinnamon doughnuts and apple cider, and just walked around on the little farm. Their cider press has been around since the 1800s and still produces cider today. It was very good. The corn maze was in the shape of a train this year and the clues to get you through were railroad history facts.  It was very fun. John obviously led the way through it and I just followed behind. The drive out there was so pretty as well. So many fields and farms.

Friday Night John and I went to a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was at the State Theatre downtown, which is very old and historic. It was quite interesting to say the least. We bought a participation packet and set down to enjoy the show. If you know about midnight showings of this then you know what I'm talking about. A very interesting group of people, but we had a lot of FUN! Bayley did not attend, she doesn't enjoy weird stuff like the Clayton siblings do.

Saturday morning consisted of John and Bayley's Christmas card photo being taken with Louis. I had the awesome job of being the photographer....sooooo much fun. There were only a few arguments and we got some really good pictures. I think it's going to be a good one this year.

We went to eat at this greek restaurant on Saturday and then went to Cupcake Station for a little dessert. Yummmmmmy. I also got a Michigan t-shirt. A must have item to document the trip.

Sunday they took me to the airport and I flew out. My friend Malinda picked me up in Nashville and we met our friend Rusty who lives there for lunch (a whole story in itself), then back to Florence. All in all a very fun break.
