We'll take a cup of kindness yet

Here we are, another new year and another fresh start. January 1 is a clean slate that comes every 365 days. I hope to take advantage of it when moving forward into 2012. I'm not really a resolution girl, but in general I hope to take more chances and lose some of my inabitions. I did buy a journal. I don't plan to start a "diary" per se, but I do want to start writing things down more. Just thoughts, a particular rewarding or memory worthy event, or just something I think needs to be written down for my own self. I know it probably will not be a daily thing, just a "I'm inspired to write" thing. I do hope by this time next year I don't find it in a random purse or by my bedside table under some stuff and completely blank. I hope for it to be full. We shall see.

I rang in the new year with my favorite people, my family. We spent the afternoon at the movies, and then came home for football, food, and games. My mom, who always puts up a fabulous spread, didn't disappoint. We had boiled shrimp, buffalo wings, cocktail wennies, ham & cheese sandwiches, rotel and a fabulous chocolate/carmel dessert. I ate way too much, but enjoyed it all.

After the Auburn/UVA game was over we busted out the Mexican Train Dominos. Games and my family don't really mix. We argue way to much and no one is ever wrong in the Clayton family which makes it worse. This time was no different. John and I argued over the rules throughout the whole thing {typical} but we did manage to have some fun too {reminded us of old times}. We paused at midnight to watch Seacrest and poor Dick Clark countdown to midnight in Times Square. Then we continuted on with our game.

I wouldn't have wanted to ring in the new year any other way. I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store.
Play this for a fantastic version of Auld Lang Syne:
