so today at work...

Today I got to work and was told I was needed to cover a briefing on a privacy bill. The bill is the Barton/Markey Do Not Track Kids Act of 2011 that they are hoping will be passed in this legislative session. The bill is bipartisan and its basic purpose is to stop the targeting of childern by advertisers on the internet through behavioral marketing and data collection. The bill also advocates for an online eraser button and stronger parental consent for kids under the age of 15 using the web. If you are interested in the bill you can read more about it here. To bring more attention to the legislation they brought in actor and comedian and host of America's Got Talent, Nick Cannon to speak out in support. He was at the briefing and told his reasons for hoping the bill is past and to also bring some more awareness. The briefing room was packed, as is normally the case when a celeb comes to the Hill. It was fun and I had a pretty good seat. Here's a few pictures I snapped on my phone from my morning with Mr. Mariah Carey.

It was such a beautiful day I couldn't resist walking back to the office afterwards and foregoing a cab. I wanted to be outside as much as possible! What did you do at work today?
