Cat, Breakfast at Tiffany's |
My favorite part of my time spent living at home was cuddling in the AM with my dear Lizzy. She loved to have girl time and considers my room hers as well. Whenever my mom and I gathered in the living room or my room or in my parents bed to chat or read magazines or watch TV Lizzy was never far behind. She and my dad have a love/hate relationship, and I always felt like I was her only advocate in the household. I know she's holding her own even with my departure, but I like to think she misses our nightly and morning cuddling and reading in my bed as much as I do.
I also miss our big, black beast: PEPPER. He is Lizzy's brother and is seriously a big massive ball of black with piercing green eyes. Pepper is always like a protector. Where ever I was in our house he's always laying down guarding the door or at the end of the couch never far from reach. He doesn't bother anyone, he just keeps to himself unless he wants some food or go outside. Don't worry, he'll be back in soon, he HATES being outside!
Addie Sue is the apple of my dad's eye. She came from a garbage can. We really are a safe haven for strays. We just can't turn them away...even bad ones like Addie Sue. She doesn't really like my mom or me...just my dad. She follows him around the house and yard like a dog. She's feline man's best friend. She's quite feisty too.
And of course there is Amos, our oldest and bright orange tabby. He is quite the curmudgeon. He's always annoyed about something and is very particular!
No, we aren't creepy cat people, but yes we have four cats. They are all important members of our family. I miss having these four friends to talk to during the day. I don't think it's crazy to talk to them...they are very good listeners..especially Lizzy. They come in and out. They have to go out at night, except on weekends, that's their special treat! Now that my parents have a new canine addition, I'm not sure how they are adjusting, but I'm sure they are holding their own. They are pretty adaptable creatures.
