i "Carried On" Tuesday night. and loved every minute of it

I have returned to Florence this week. I've started a new job this week at Family Hyundai this week. I answer the phones and after that pretty much whatever. I've done word searches, sudoku puzzles, online shopping, organizing Panhellenic recruitment things, and started reading a new book. It's quite an easy job, can be boring at times but at least it's money.

Tuesday night I had a reunion with my friends Malinda and Leah Beth. Dinner at Ricks...one of my favorite places in Florence and then on to see Sex and the City 2. There are many different opinions on the film but I loved it. It was rather long but I never want to stop hearing Samantha one-liners or seeing fabulous clothes so I was good with the time. This movie is quite different than the first. They are finally all established in their lives like women in their 40s should be. They have their husbands (well except for Samantha but that will never happen), their grown up jobs and grown up apartments. It was nice not to have to worry about Big and Carrie or Steve and Miranda or Charlotte's ability to have a baby. I enjoyed the fact that they went to have fun in a new place. I for one got one thing out of this film....I need rich friends so I can do these types of fun things. My favorite thing about this film was that they were all about being independent women even though they do have their established lives. They all still wanted just a part of themselves to be their own. Miranda wasn't ashamed to NEED a job to be herself, Charlotte admitted that time to herself away from her kids was okay, and Carrie realized that she loved her life just the way it was and didn't need to worry about losing herself and becoming a boring married couple. Samantha has always known how to be okay with herself. That is the persona of who she is. I liked this. It shows women that it's okay for things not to be perfect and it's okay to want to be an independent person and have some part of yourself just for you even after you are married with a family.

Another great thing about these movies: The clothes. I know they often get on the ridiculous side but they are just so amazing.

Carrie gets very upset when for her and Big's 2nd anniversary she gets him a vintage Rolex watch that is inscribed and in return he gives her a state of the art television for them to watch black and white movies on. I understand where she is coming from BUT I really think the thought behind his gift was genuine. He wanted to recreate their romantic night of watching old movies in Connecticut, but all Carrie saw was a TV in comparison to her nice/inscribed watch. Personally if John James Preston was giving me any type of gift I would be okay with it. After that closet and that apartment and his basic good looks I would be content forever. Also I'm sure every wife wishes their punishment for kissing an ex was a Black Diamond Ring that they HAD to wear. Just saying Carrie, you have the best set up ever. You shouldn't ever be complaining.

"[a black diamond] because you are not like anyone else"-Big

After the movie we went to Applebees for some dessert and catchup time. Very much enjoyed this night out with two of my favorite people. Lots of fun gossip to catch up on and funny conversations. There is nothing like a good night out with good girlfriends.
