Okay, I know this is probably going to be uninteresting to the majority of people that possibly read my blog....BUT I have a lot of time on my hands recently and time to ponder on irrelevant and some relevant topics. This is what has been on my mind lately and I continue on with all seriousness....
What is the DEAL with the Jessie Spano/Kelly Kapowski/Tori Scott section of Saved by the Bell??? I mean it doesn't make since. When Jessie & Kelly are in the episodes there is no mention of Tori and when Tori is around no mention of Kelly and Jessi. It just doesn't make since and it has bothered me since I can remember. Well, since I have all this time on my hands I decided to delve into it and see what the internet world had to say. I knew there has to be some obsessive fan out there to explain this to me and finally put my mind at rest. Oh, I found it all right. There are people "out there" who have my same misunderstandings and questioning thoughts.
So this is what I've found out. They call it the "Tori Paradox." In the final season of Saved by the Bell the cast {original 6: Zach, Slater, Screech, Lisa, Kelly, & Jessie} signed on for 13 episodes. They shot all 13 episodes and ended with the graduation episode of the original 6. Before any of these final shows aired, NBC decided that they wanted to order more episodes of the show. Elizabeth Berkeley {Jessie Spano} and Tiffani Thiessen{Kelly Kapowski} refused to sign new contracts. They didn't want to do anymore episodes of the show. Instead of shooting more episodes with just the original 4 characters left , the producers decided to bring in a new character to fill in as a replacement for Kelly and Jessie. This character was Tori Scott.
The promos for the final season of the show featured all three actresses together, even though, they never all three appeared in an episode at once. The network just alternated between airing "Tori" episodes and "Jessie & Kelly" episodes each week. The absence of the character not on screen was never explained from week to week. The last episode of the season was the graduation episode which only featured the original 6 and there was no mention of Tori.
This, my friends, is the "Tori Paradox"
It's been on my mind for a long time. Maybe it helped clear some things up for you as well. {I have too much free time.}
Finally! Someone has answered all of the questions out there!
