yes, I watch soap operas...Don't JUDGE..It really shouldn't be suprising considering all the other stuff I watch and my love of drama. I literally have watched Days of Our Lives on and off my entire life. I'm pretty sure my mom was watching it in the hospital up until it was time to push and so I was just born with it in my genes {not that my mother would EVER waste time watching a "silly" soap opera} My grandmother is really the reason why I watch. She started watching the day after she retired and has ever since. When I would stay with her we would watch together and it has always been something that has connected us. We still talk about the latest happenings of Salem every time we are together. Also the lady that has cleaned our house ever since I was in kindergarten is a huge fan...Mom always got mad if I was home when she came to clean because we would sit and watch the soaps together-I'm now banished from the house when she arrives! I had pretty much gotten out of the habit of watching while in college because I was just too busy and didn't have time to do anything much less sit for an hour in the middle of the day to watch something. Since I have been living at home and out of work, I must admit, I got sucked back in. My dad comes home for lunch every day and we always eat and watch the WTVA noon show together then he leaves to go back to work and I hang with the people of Salem. From time to time, Dad gets sucked in too and will ask me about the storylines {he likes it, he just want admit it, I mean how does he just happen to know all of the characters names??}
Well this Monday the show had kind of a restart, they brought back old fan favorites and are trying to take it back to the glory "Days" of Salem. In a time when daytime dramas are being canceled right and left because they are just too costly for the networks, Days seems to be putting all hands on deck. It could either be a huge payoff or just a last big horah!
I think its going to be a big payoff. They picked just the right time to bring in new writers, producers and fan favorite actors. They relaunched the Monday after All My Children's last air date on ABC and they are in the same time slot so they are gaining a lot of new viewers..very smart! The writing is very smart and entertaining. Can't wait to see what the story lines are going to be. There seem to be a lot of mystery surrounding everyone's return to Salem...

| I had such a crush on Patrick Muldoon (Austin Reed) when I was younger. I mean not only was he on Days, but he also was on a few episodes of Saved by the Bell (Jeff- he worked at the Max..broke Kelly's heart at The Attic) He's still looking pretty good. |
