summer TV

When summer time comes it means the end of all my favorite weekly television dramas and comedies, but I do have a few summer favorites to keep my occupied. My favorite of all favorites is of course So You Think You Can Dance. We are still in the audition stages right now, but I love, love, love this show. I'm so ready to get into the top 20 and drool over all the great routines!

And yesssssss, I admit, I am watching The Bachelorette. I hate it so much, yet I can't help myself. This has to be the WORST season ever to air. Emily is just boring and fake, and these guys are just the WORST. But I continue to watch and tweet my grievances all the way through.

So WHO out there has stumbled upon the treat known as Duck Dynasty? I saw multiple tweets and Facebook comments surrounding this show, so I found it on OnDemand and sat down and watched an episode with my mother. WOW. It is FUNNY stuff. I just want to go hang out with Uncle Si, he is CRAZY. It's a reality show on A&E about the Robertson family in Louisiana who run a multimillion dollar business, and their products are duck and deer calls for hunting. Apparently they have the best ones on the market. If you walked in their warehouse you wouldn't think any money was being made by their lack of productivity, but they sure do like to have a good time. All the employees are family members so there isn't much Willie, the CEO of the company, can do about it. Please watch. I can't get enough of it.

A summer TV treat happened by way of The History Channel. The 3 part mini series Hatfields & McCoys aired last week and both my dad and I had heard great things about it so we watched it by way of OnDemand. It was a huge success for the cable industry. Over 14 million viewers watched with the first airing, HUGE number for a cable tv program. It stars Kevin Costner as "Devil" Anse Hatfield and Bill Paxton as Randall McCoy. The three part series takes you through the infamous rivalry between the two families that began at the close of the Civil War and didn't officially end until the 1970s after many deaths and heartache. If you have time to spare I highly recommend. The fact that it's a true story makes it even more intriguing.

McCoys

What are you watching this summer?
