Lord Grantham is still being a stick in the mud when it comes to changes. He tries to move back into the bedroom but Lady Grantham isn't having that...not just yet. Not even if he presents himself in his dinner jacket and asks so courteously. Nope She's still blaming him for dear Sybil's untimely death. Like REALLY laying on the blame. Poor Robert. His only friend these days is Isis. Isobel invites the ladies for luncheon and poor Ethel enlists Mrs. Patmore to help with a surprise {meaning edible} intricate meal for them. Mr.Carson finds that Ethel is cooking for the Ladies of Downton and runs off to tell Lord G. He goes ballistic and storms down to Crawley House. The ladies find out about Ethel's former occupation, but don't seem to mind. In the words of the Dowager "It would be a pity to miss such a good pudding." Below stairs Thomas & Anna mourn the death of Sybil while Ivy, Daisy, Albert, & Jimmy weave in and out of flirting "with all the wrong people" according to Mrs Patmore. We end the ep with a declaration from Dr. Clarkson that even if it had been done his way Lady Sybil most likely still would have died and Lord & Lady G can finally mourn together and Mr. Bates is FINALLY getting out of jail. Thank goodness, No MORE PRISON. Next week there will be cricket whites. YES.
Dallas is so hard to follow everyone is manipulating each other, I don't even know who is on who's side and neither do any of the characters. Christopher spends the episode trying to get the real Rebecca Sutter to testify on his behalf even though she's also in talks with Pamela Rebecca Barnes to help her. John Ross is working with PRB too in hopes of getting her shares of Ewing oil once PRB gets them in a divorce settlement from Christopher while he's hoping to use Real Rebecca to get an annulment and not divorce. John Ross works his mama to get her to call in Elena's loan so he then can get her shares of Ewing Energies. He takes advice from JR "You use those puppy dog eyes you got from me, and that's gonna bring out the mama bear in Sue Ellen" to which Sue Ellen says "I was married to your father for 17 years, I know when I'm being played" but she still vows to help her little boy anyway. Sue Ellen gives Elena a week to get oil or she's calling in loan. Ann & Bobby find out Ryland is the one who kidnapped her daughter from the fair many years before and had her raised in Europe by his mother. The police can't do anything since it's been so long, so Ann pays Ryland a visit. The woman's been aiming to shoot someone with a gun since Ep 1 of this Dallas reboot. She finally does it. Fierce Ann don't play. Also Judith Light's character is great. I hope she's around for a while. It's so sick and twisted but great.
Mindy is banned from the Empire State Building because of her loitering too frequently and being suspected of being a terrorist. Mindy&Jamie double date with Lucy&Danny. The matchmaking of Lucy&Danny gets off to a rough start but then they both bond over past relationship catastrophes and start to hit it off. This makes Jamie feel excluded and then he cokes on a fish bone. Mindy gives him the Heimlich and Jamie decides to save the Valentine's Day date by whisking her off to the Empire State Building for a romantic view of Manhattan. While waiting in line Mindy asks if Jamie is in love with Lucy, which he finally comes to terms that he is, much to Mindy's dismay. They go to find Lucy, who's making out with Danny but after Jamie's confession realizes she loves him too. Super When Harry Met Sally moment. Mindy & Danny end Valentine's Day sharing a disgusting pizza. Super.
This show always brings me such happiness. In this weeks episode Cam is directing the school production of Phantom of the Opera. The lead gets sick and Manny really wants the role, but Luke seems to really have the voice and know the songs even though he's just been doing the sets the whole time. Phil asks Jay to teach him to play golf to help out with business meetings. They meet up with Mitchell and his friend Pepper on the course. Mitchell never played golf growing up because Jay was too mean and frustrating of a teacher but turns out he's really good. Favorite Jay quote "Gloria's been on me to be more patient since the baby...but it's been a month, how hard is it to hold up your own head." oh Jayyyy. Haley and her boyfriend spend the day hanging out with Lily and the new baby. They talk about how fun it would be to be parents. Claire makes it a mission to show them how not fun it would be. Phil's dad comes for the play and shows why Phil is the best dad ever. He could never miss the sets of a play his son has been working on for a month....and his dad drove up from Florida because it couldn't be missed. Such the cheerleader dads.
Thursday is so much good tv it's hard to keep up. Parks&Rec was hilarious as always. Tom is my fictional bestie. Andy was back on The Office and still not funny. Grey's ended with the plane crash victims contemplating buying the hospital to save it from the impersonal, efficient, standardized procedure conglomerate and Scandal blew my mind, as USUAL. Pretty much Fitz knows about the vote tampering. Fitz hates Olivia and is lovin' on Mellie. James Lied for Cyrus. Abbey crapped on David Rosen. James Crapped on David Rosen. Quinn is wanting to rouge and hire Huck to kill Doyle. Olivia crapped on Edison again. In return Liv gets crapped on by Fitz and left at a funeral of the Supreme Court justice who tried to oust the President who in return did oust her. Basically the moral of this episode was everyone got crapped on. Next week looks even better Olivia is swimming away her problems & the ex of Mrs Ben Affleck is making an appearance as a new LivieLoveInterest. Can't wait.
