Panhellenic Exec
Brenna, Becca, Me, Beth, Breann

As you probably know I am the current Panhellenic President for the Panhellenic Council at UNA. The term is from January to December. I am really excited to be working with an awesome group of girls this year. Our VP of Judicial is Rebecca Keating. Rebecca and I met last year when she came on the council as Secretary. None of us knew Rebecca but we all LOVED her once we got to know her. Rebecca was a freshman and had been thrust onto the council with all juniors who were about to be seniors at UNA. She is an old soul who just likes to chill and go with the flow, but she also likes things to get done. Rebecca and I are very similar in that we like to cook and can't stand the drama. Our VPs of Recruitment this year are Beth and Destin. Beth's over all the Gamma Chis and Destin deals with all the rules and paperwork of recruitment. Beth is so much fun and always doing anything that I ask her too. Her dramatic life is always fun to hear about as well as her feelings towards everyone in the world. She isn't afraid to speak her mind. at. all. Destin is fairly quiet, but has a good dry since of humor and has a huge engagement ring! It's massive...everyone needs to see it. massive! Brenna joined as the secretary. Brenna loves to talk and she loves following those rules! I love that about her. Rounding up the bunch is Breann. Breann is pretty much my twin in life. We shared an SGA office last year as she was the VP of Senate and I was the VP of UPC. We have both been on Panhellenic together for the past 2 years and we both love Ellen. Breann and I find the same things hilarious and we pretty much read each others minds in most meetings and situations. My favorite thing about Breann is that she does pageants, can do Beyonce's Single Ladies dance to perfection, and she does fabulous impressions.

We all got together at the beginning of summer vacation to have a little exec retreat and discuss things for the upcoming year for panhellenic. We stayed at Rebecca's house in Florence and we cooked dinner and did a little bonding. Keating made some amazing chicken, fresh greenbeans, rice, and Paula Dean cheese biscuits. I brought a little hot dip appetizer and made us some amazing brownies for dessert. So much better than eating out. After all of our business was taken care of we just hung out. Keating's dog Baxter had destroyed her remote so instead of changing the channel we watched "True Life: I'm going to Prom" circa 2003. Hilarious.

The next day was the Gamma Chi retreat for all the Recruitment Counselors. These girls disaffiliate from their sorority chapters in order to help the incoming freshman girls go through the recruitment experience. Our Exec council was taking the girls along with our Greek Advisor DeAnte to Doublehead Resort in Town Creek, Alabama. We had 3 cabins for all the girls and some activities planned. Some were bonding activities for the them to get to know each other and also activities to help them learn what it means to be Panhellenic and for them to learn about each others sororities.

We had a nice meal at the lodge where the girls got all their Gamma Chi swag: a bag and some t-shirts and then we took pictures by the lake. That night we had a bonfire on the beach and roasted marshmallows. It was fun to sit around and get to know one another. I think these group of girls are going to be wonderful and I am looking forward to working with them more.
