yes, I did. I admit it.

I went to see Eclipse tonight. I loved it. I'm not ashamed. I stood in line outside, experienced obnoxious thirteen year old girls with bad t-shirts, and squeals every time Taylor Lautner appeared on screen without a t-shirt (which was every time he was on screen). I enjoyed it though, every minute. This really is the best of the movies so far. My favorite thing about it was there was lots of humor. Edward and Jacob bantering back and forth trying to prove their "love." They had some great one-liners, really funny. I'm also obsessed with the field of flowers that Edward and Bella hang out in throughout the movie. That is what the picture above is. It's so beautiful. I love the purple flowers mixed with the sunshine. Also another great part about my viewing experience was the guy sitting next to me. He had been dragged there by his friend who had been dragged by his girlfriend. I guess since he had to go with the girlfriend his best guy friend was going to have to suffer through the pain of it as well. He was really attractive. We had fun discussing the stupidity of the vulgar teenage girls sitting in front of us. Also he smelled really good. Just a plus to the viewing experience. Back to the topic at hand.

I know the whole Twilight series is very obnoxious, and I am quite ashamed to be a fan at times. I started reading the books the first summer I worked at Camp Cosby. A lot of the girl counselors were talking about them and how in love they were so of course I jumped on the bandwagon. That was way before it became what it is now....INSANITY. I love the books, I love the movies...but that is it. Everyone needs to calm themselves.

My biggest problem with the series is the character, Bella. She is the worst kind of female character in a book. She can't do anything for herself, everything is revolved around two men. She must be rescued and saved, she can't be alone for any amount of time, and she has to be told how wonderful she is everyday so she doesn't go into a depression. She has no self confidence. This bothers me because it is a book directed at teenage girls. Is this what we should be teaching them? Never try doing anything on your own, please always depend on a boy to make you complete, always be a damsel in distress?!? um no. Please don't be this way.

I know it's just a book and I don't really care that much, just my readers response I guess. I will probably go see the movie again, I will continue to discuss it with my friends, and I will eagerly anticipate the next one. After all I am a typical girl who loves this stuff.

Sidenote:
So You Think You Can Dance was amazing tonight. Prediction: Alex Wong is going to win. Really amazing tonight. I never thought he would be so good at Hip-Hop but...WOW.
