Before we headed out of Vegas we had one last stop to make and that was to Gold & Silver Pawn, which is featured on the show Pawn Stars on the History Channel. John doesn't watch much TV, but he LOVES this show. It was his only request for the road trip. The place has become quite the tourist attraction due to the popularity of the show so you have to stand in line to go in. Since we had Louis someone would need to stay in the car with him and I volunteered since John and Bayley are bigger fans of the show than myself. John got a t-shirt and a magnet. We actually saw a tag from Union County, MS in the parking lot. I had fun watching the people in the parking lot and seeing someone come and get the "Old Man's" car and drive it around back for him.
After this we headed out of town. On our way to Flagstaff we got to drive across the Hoover Dam. We didn't get to get out and walk around because they don't allow dogs even in the parking garage, but we got some good pictures.
After the Hoover Dam our drive looked a lot like this as we crossed into Arizona:
That is, until we came upon the most beautiful thing I think I've ever seen: THE GRAND CANYON. The pictures don't really do it justice. Simply beautiful.
Louis was loving the Canyon!
Once we got into Flagstaff we checked into the hotel then drove to a Mexican restaurant that had been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. The waiter recommended this chicken chimichanga that was AMAZING. The chicken tasted like it had been smoked like BBQ and they had this amazing cream sauce that they were known for drizzled over the top. It was really yummy!
