just what you need

Sometimes all you need in life is a great conversation. I had two today and they completely turned my whole spirit around. So thankful for the people in my life and the great words. Seriously, they come at JUST the right times.

I read this quote on the daily.

Also we sang this song at Bible study tonight at church. One of my all time favorite hymns and it came to me at just the right time:

I just found this on YoutTube. I don't know the church, but they sound great!

I love the 2nd verse so much and I really needed it today::
Give me the Bible, when my heart is broken,
When sin and grief have filled my soul with fear;
Give me the precious words by Jesus spoken,
Hold up faith’s lamp to show my Savior near.

busy last few days...ready for more!

Last Friday I was invited by the Johnson women (dear friends from church)  to go to Birmingham to a girl's Bible study, you can read all about it on the Joyful Johnson's blog. It was such a great overnight, and I was so glad that they thought to ask me to come a long! I haven't done a full on slumber party in a while!

We got home from Birmingham that afternoon, and I was oh, so tired from the late night so I crashed until it was time to go to our church's monthly Family Bible Study. It was outside {I'm really not sure where we were exactly, just out in the country} and it was so pleasant. Not too hot or muggy, which is always a plus in Mississippi.  We had a wonderful lesson and then some equally wonderful food. We finished the night with snow cones! A great summer treat.

On Monday I turned right around and returned to Birmingham. This time to attend a concert with two of my favorites from college Malinda and Ashley. We went to see Rihanna at the BJCC Arena.  All the proceeds went to Tornado Relief in the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa areas. What a SHOW it was! It was so, so much fun! I was excited just to see my girls and to top it off with a great show was even better! Our dear nugget, Leah Beth let us stay at her apartment. I haven't actually seen LB live & in person since March and that was only for about 5 minutes. This visit seemed just as short {it consisted of me picking up the apartment key from her at work and a quick chat and then me crawling into bed with her about 1am, not quite the catch up we need} At 5:00 we headed to Chuey's a Mexican restaurant at The Summit and ate and then from there headed to the arena.  There were so many fashion disasters. It was wonderful.
Rihanna didn't actually come on until about 9:00 but we had fun getting to know our neighbors and listening to the DJ and such. Malinda got us some wonderful seats {she's so good at the mom role} These photos aren't that great, they are from my phone but they will have to do:

When RiRi hit the stage, there was no slowing down or sitting down, not even when she sang California King Bed, Unfaithful, or Take a Bow {my FAVORITES}. It was all wild and crazy! We never wanted it to end! ahh! I'm still taking in the wonderfulness of it all. Her costumes are so loud and colorful, I guess that makes since do to it being called 2011LOUDtour. There wasn't anything about it I didn't like. Just fabulous. We also got some entertainment on the way out of the arena.  People were dancing all over the place. My favorite was this little girl breaking it down. That girl had it going on! If you follow me on twitter I posted a video there.
{concert nails--a little wild--Beyonce inspired}

For the next few days I'm at my job at the Ron Williams for Governor campaign office in Tupelo, but on Saturday I leave for my road trip adventure! I promise I'll try to blog on the daily from the road! So ready for the next week.

verse of the week

"The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law." Deuteronomy 29:29

In our Bible study on Wednesday night our teacher, Mr. Scott Doles, began the lesson with this verse.  We are in the middle of a study of the book of Numbers.  So much is revealed to us and so much is not.  Mr. Scott began with this verse to emphasize that yes, there is a lot we are told and there is a lot that we aren't told, but that is how the Lord wanted it to be.  We have to go with what we do know and follow the guidelines that he has set out for us.  What we don't know we weren't meant to know.  Those are God's secrets and we have to have faith in that.  This verse really helped me because I'm a person that wants answers, and you have to realize that sometimes the answer aren't meant for you to know.
