We got up early on Monday {July 18} and all got ready and got the car packed up for the trip. We were driving 5 hours to Bakersfield, CA. Since the drive wasn't terribly long we went around San Francisco to various sites to take pictures before getting on the road. Our first stop was Tartine Bakery for some breakfast. It was literally the BEST ham and cheese croissant I have ever had! Words really can't describe how good it was. I think John & Bayley heard about it from someone John worked with during the summer, and it certainly didn't disappoint.
After breakfast we went to Alamo Square to see the Painted Ladies or as people of my generation might call them "the houses from Full House"
Our next stop was Golden Gate Park:
Next we headed to Lincoln Park which had beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean:
Louis and the Golden Gate Bridge-He LOVES California
We stopped by the Legion of Honor next. It was closed on Mondays but I got a peep in:
If graduating from UNA & being a sister of ADPi taught me anything it was if there's a lion, I'm posing with it!
The Thinker
My "I can't believe you're not open" face.
Next stop: Golden Gate Bridge:
Our last stop before leaving SF was the Palace of Fine Arts. It was beautiful!
This lady LOVED Louis and wanted in the family photo...HILARIOUS!
Then it was off to Bakersfield, CA. The scenery was pretty much nothing but this the whole way:
Once we got to Bakersfield, John went to get us a pizza at John's Pizza Palace {looked just like the arcade/pizza place on Toy Story} and we watched The Bachelorette. Resting up for VEGAS the next morning!
