30 Rock: Live Episode

Jon Hamm as BANJO "They thought that two black people on the same show would make people nervous...a rule NBC still uses today!"-Kenneth |
- Jim: Okay, guys, not every glance means something. Alright? Life isn't "Downton Abbey."
- Pam: Life IS "Downton Abbey."
I was obsessed with this moment for OBVIOUS reasons!
Parks & Rec:
The Debate episode might have been my SECOND favorite all season...last week was my favorite!
"Nothing pumps me up like Sarah McLachlan!" - Leslie Knope
This episode actually had MANY awesome moments. I advise to watch it in it's entirety. Andy acts out scenes from Rambo, Roadhouse, & Babe, Traeger & Ann are the ultimate spin team, Jerry is watching with nuns, and the debate discusses the important issues of who is the best James Bond to books turned into movies.
Grey's Anatomy:
There is no better friendship on television than Meredith & Cristina. It's my favorite.
Scandal:
THE BEST MOMENT OF THE NIGHT...Cyrus' hypothetical monologue of what a "Post-Public-Affair" life would be like for President Grant:
THE BEST MOMENT OF THE NIGHT...Cyrus' hypothetical monologue of what a "Post-Public-Affair" life would be like for President Grant:
Cyrus: "What's next? What's next. Okay here's what happens next. You resign from office now! Or Amanda goes on TV, tells her sad sordid tale, there are hearings, you're impeached, and you're forced to resign from office. Your Vice President, a moronic, right wing, nut job, who thinks the Tea Party was founded to lower the yacht tax! And also seems to not quite understand that Evolution isn't an idea, but an actual fact! But who cares we won the scary states in the election! They'll have a party now that their Grand Wizard is President! I'm pretty sure I'll never see a legal marriage, and women will lose the right to choose. But hey whatever! We're all Republicans, even if the new president will give Republicans a bad name! You'll leave in disgrace, go home to California; keep a low profile a while. And then some fancy publishing house will pay you a fortune for a book, which you'll write. Only it won't talk about what everyone really wants to know about, it won't talk about your sordid affair with a white house aide, it'll talk about policy and your thoughts on the economy. And it won't sell! Because no one cares about your thoughts on policy and the economy anymore because you're not the President anymore! What you are now is a joke on Letterman! Millie, a lovely woman, ambitious and strong, and well quite wealthy in her own right; she's not going to be circa 1998 Hilary on this! No siree, this is the 21st Century, she's going to leave you and she's going to take your children with her. And everyone will applaud her from the religious right to the women's groups because you are a philandering pig, who had a child out of wedlock, and we all know it's true because we heard the tape! You'll be alone in your house in Santa Barbara, listening to old records and telling the same story over and over again to the poor sap not smart enough to get out of being assigned to your secret service detail. Then one day, about oh, three or four years from now, you'll step into your bathroom, take out that revolver your father gave you when you were elected governor; you'll put it in your mouth and you'll blow the back of your skull off! Oprah's retired now, so I guess I'll have to do a post funeral interview with Barbara Walters. She's nice. But you know...you just go back to writing your own speech, that's important. (Chuckles) That matters!"
All of this said while he drapes himself casually across the couch in the Oval...oh it was amazing to watch.
Did you watch any GOOD tv last night?

art of dreams...
It was an absolutly beautiful weekend here in the District. On Friday, my friend Christa got off early so I met her Downton for a late lunch and some walking around. We ate at this sushi place in Chinatown {for the record, I really hate Chinatown in DC, it's always full of obnoxious hipsters, but it is home to lots of restuarants and mall like stores and movie theatre so one must venture down there from time to time} I do love this sushi place particularly. Christa and I got caught up and enjoyed a wonderful lunch. We left with no real purpose in mind. We just walked around Downton DC for a good hour and a half. We stopped to listen to a fun street band for a little while..we couldn't resist one of the little kids playing the trumpet was so cute! After walking for a while we got tired and decided to stop at this mexican restuarant for some chips & salsa and a drink.
Saturday was equally as beautiful. Christa and I had purchased tickets to the Madame Tussaud's wax museum on Groupon a few months back and we thought this weekend would be the best time to put them to use! I met Christa and MV in Chinatown, and we grabbed some lunch then we headed over. It was definitely worth the Groupon discounted price...I don't think I would ever pay the actual full price, but we got a great deal.
Here are some pictures from the day:
We stopped by Le Pain Quotidien afterwards for a treat. I love that place! Then we shopped around Downtown for a little while and then headed over to Georgetown for the rest of the afternoon. By the time I got home Saturday night I was exhausted. It was a FULL day, and lots of fun.
What did you do on this beautiful weekend?

Simbaaaa
On the HelloGiggles blog {probably my favorite thing to get lost in during free time} they have a section where they do an "Illustrated Tweet of the Day." It's quite humorous. This is todays:

This made me laugh so hard because my brother Josh and I have done this millions of times with our orange kitty Amos. I guess we aren't the only weird ones out there.

FALLON takes on FLOTUS
This is a funny video from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. To promote the First Lady's Let's Move initative, Jimmy came to the White House to take part in a fitness contest between the two. It's pretty funny. They do stair racing, hula hoop, tug of war, push ups, and the final potato sack race tie breaker.
Please watch, very funny:

20 New Years Resolutions for 20-Somethings
The Virginia Belle: 20 New Years Resolutions for 20-Somethings (ThoughtCatalog)
via thevirginiabelle:
via thevirginiabelle:
- Before you status update, Tweet, Tumble or Instagram, pause and say to yourself, “is it entirely necessary that I share this morsel of thought with my entire social network?”and if the answer is not, “yes, I absolutely must,”then step away from the Internet.
- Know which candidate you’re going to vote for in the upcoming presidential election, and know why.
- Enough with the 14-day juice cleanses. If you want to lose a little weight quickly, eat less and exercise like crazy. If you want to lose a lot of weight slowly, do whatever Jennifer Hudson did.
- If you really like the person you’re hooking up with and would like them to be your boyfriend/ girlfriend, find a way to tell them, and hope for the best. If you don’t and wouldn’t, stop.
- Find a way to save approximately 300 dollars and spend it on a flight to see a friend or family member who lives far away.
- Please stop liking the Kardashians, all of them. It’s not helping anyone, least of all the Kardashians.
- Spend less than or equal to the money you earn each month.
- Wear clothes that fit you, especially to work.
- Call someone on the phone at least once a week, and speak to him or her for at least ten minutes.
- Start preparing now to get over the fact that Facebook is probably going to change again in six months. You’re not going to deactivate your account. You don’t know how.
- Wait 30 seconds before you look up a fact you can’t remember on your phone, and try to remember it using your brain. This is what the olden days were like.
- Replace one terrible reality show you’re currently watching with one wonderful scripted show currently available on television. Swap suggestion: Real Housewives of Anywhere for HBO’s Enlightened.
- Try that food you think you don’t like but have never actually tried, unless it’s brussels sprouts. They really don’t need any more attention.
- Cut one person out of your life who you truly do not like and add one person who you truly do. Note: not on Facebook, on Earth.
- If you’re still blacking out regularly, you should stop.
- Volunteer once over the next 90 days. You’ll feel really good about it, and probably end up volunteering again over the next 275.
- Tell someone who you love that you love them on a more regular basis. To their face, not in a text.
- Back up your entire online life onto an external hard drive, especially your photos.
- Crap or get off the pot. This applies to whatever thing you’re not doing that you should just sack up and do already.
- And in the eternal words of Tom Haverford, “TREAT YO SELF!”

happy birthday Mt. Rush
Yesterday Mt. Rushmore celebrated 70 years! I'll never forget seeing it with my parents when I was 15/16ish can't remember exactly. Unfortunately, we have no photo proof of ever being there. My moms purse was stolen a few weeks later while she was on another trip and the camera was in it. This was the last part of our trip so the roll of film hadn't finished and those pictures hadn't been developed yet. We only have our memories. It's definitely worth a trip. I wouldn't mind returning sometime. Next time you're in South Dakota make sure to stop and see.
I found this funny. The title of the picture was "Mt Rushmore from the Canadian side"

little joy Thursday
This weeks "little joy Thursday" makes me laugh. Lets be real, at the end of the day when it's finally time to crawl into bed and you finally get to shed that thing...it's heavenly. Like angels start singing heavenly. Well in my case anyways...I don't know about other people. That's really all that needs to be said.
***AI SPOILER ALERT***
I'm really excited about the finale next week with Scotty and Lauren. I think Haley was definitely a great singer and I loved her style, but I'm excited about a southern finale! I'm sure it will be a fun show down!

little joy Thursday
Today's "little joy Thursday" makes me realllllllllllly miss Florence, AL and UNA especially now that summer is setting in. Spontaneous adventures were some of the BEST memories in college and some of the scariest.
Some of my fondest spontanious adventures were with these people:
Seriously, some crazy adventures. I'll never forget the late night trip to Holly Springs to Graceland Too {mainly because Malinda and I almost got molested and Cory and Rusty just laughed} And then on the way home we were responsible citizens and called the police on a possible drunk driver. We then proceeded to watch the said driver get arrested from across the street at the Corinth Waffle House. That trip will NEVER be forgotten. Or the random trip to Nashville to go on a Celebrity Home Tour. On that trip Malinda got chased down the street by a man trying to give her a dozen roses and we met the BEST line dancing family at the Wildhorse Saloon. And then there is always the trip to Memphis to see a George Strait and Reba McEntire concert in which we stay in the "hotel from hell" there is really no other way to put it. I seriously think Rusty is trying to have us all killed so he can write a great book one day. There were also random outings in Florence that will never be forgotten. This shows that no matter where you go, as long as you have great friends there will always be memories. I love these guys and am SO glad I got the chance to adventure with them!
Oh and a Happy Birthday to the magical elf himself Mr Rusty Sherrill!
